In recent years, flash drives have emerged as a popular alternative, boasting higher storage capacities and smaller footprints. However, rotating disk drives still hold their own, with 100 TB available in 2018 and 32 TB for 2.5-inch drives. While maximum capacity is limited compared to flash drives, the versatility of hard drive form factors has allowed them to remain a staple in computing systems.
